Chantilly’s Hippodrome
The race season starts in April and on the first Sunday of May with the Hocquart Trophy... Every year, in June, Chantilly takes on an international dimension : The training centre The origin of Chantilly's vocation is the quality of the ground, particularly favourable to the fragile legs of these thoroughbreds. Today throughout the agglomeration (Chantilly, Gouvieux, Lamorlaye, Coye-la-Foret, Avilly St Leonard) a 100 professionals train 2 500 horses, all "thoroughbreds". The training of thoroughbreds is the prime activity in the region. All categories taken into consideration, it provides for more than 2 000 jobs, and primarily to the 1 000 lads who ride the horses daily on the different grounds and who care for them in the stables or accompany them to the races. Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly The Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly is now the biggest Polo Club in France. In 1999, it was entrusted by the International Polo Federation the organisation of three major events : the Ambassadors' Cup, the European Championship and the 2004World Championship. Situated in Apremont, 5 minutes from Chantilly, you can discover Polo, from April to Mid-July on Saturdays or on Sundays at 15:00. From September to the beginning of October, you can watch a commented match. Polo also attracts more and more companies who can organise original sponsoring and P R operations or discovery courses within Incentive sessions. For further information |
